The children in Nursery 1 have been improving their fine motor skills with this fantastic sensory activity. Using their hands, fingers and paint brushes they watched as they made prints with the bubble wrap.
Who would have thought bubble wrap could have multiple uses!
The children in Miss Elizabeths class have been having so much fun exploring and creating their own games.
Here´s one they made earlier…
As we passed by today through one of the Foundation 4 classes, we saw the kids just enjoying the afternoon and playing in corners. It’s a pleasure to see them relaxed and exploring different learning spaces, role playing and interacting with their peers!
Something magical happened last week in Nursery 3. The children created their own Mini Enterprise with the help from the GCSE business students in Pre-U. Both, the students in Pre-U and the children in Nursery 3 learned together to work in teams, to teach and learn and to take part in a collaborative business project.
It was amazing to see the children create their own Cookie Shop. They were involved in every stage of the whole business process. And that means a lot!
Within their teams, they were responsible for; market research, product design, buying ingredients from the classroom shop, baking and decorating the cookies, coming up with a brand name, decorating their shop for the big day and finally the role play part in which they would sell the cookies at their shop to the parents.
It is a great way to get the children to think of the bigger picture whilst paying close attention to the small details.
Getting the children to take pride in what they have created and worked so hard for was such an easy task as all of the children enjoyed the process so much.
A big thank you to the parents for showing up on the day and really embracing the role play task. Role play is such an important part of the young childs education and it means a lot to us that we could share this with you.
We cannot wait to do it again soon!
Nursery 1 are all set for their ´Easter Egg Hunt´ this afternoon with the parents.
They have their hats and baskets at the ready.
Have you ever tried painting with feathers?
Children love everything about feathers from the colours to how they feel all soft and fluffy.
It´s nice to explore with the things in our environment and that´s exactly what they did. The children in Nursery 1 explored by using the feathers to paint with. By swirling and mixing the different types of paint, they were able to create different patterns and textures.
Painting strengthens fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination so open up a bag of feathers and have fun!
Look where Nursery 3 have been!
Yesterday, the children experienced an unforgettable day at Can Montcau farm.
Feeding the animals, milking a cow, holding baby rabbits and chicks, learning where eggs come from, a picnic in the sunshine and naming the new-born chick are just a few of the things they got up to.
They had so much fun and cannot wait to go back in the near future!
